Overnight Shelter for Single Men |
More than a flophouse or soup kitchen…
The number of homeless men has skyrocketed. Cities, including the greater Fresno area, are beginning to experience a pattern of homelessness and substance abuse -- men with no hope.
Who will help the least, the last and the lost?
The Fresno Rescue Mission has been offering overnight shelter to men for more than 58 years. Known as “The Old Lighthouse”, the Mission is a place where broken lives are put back together, living proof that there can be hope for those who had none. A place where men can discover a bright and positive future.
The shelter provides for physical and spiritual needs… a warm bed, food, clothing, personal care, spiritual counseling based on the gospel of Jesus Christ, and most importantly someone who cares and is willing to help them break the cycle of homelessness.
Our goal is "changed lives"
“from desperation” – living on the streets, in their car or in a motel.
“to seeing a glimmer of hope” – having basic needs met through our Overnight Shelter.
“to acknowledging life change is possible” – recovery, rehabilitation, job and life skills training.
“to restoration” – reconciliation spiritually, emotionally and physically with family and society.
